Belo

We only know what you handed us.

Belo asks for six things. You connect them one at a time, each with a single tap. Those six are everything Belo connects to. Belo also keeps the ordinary record of an account: your name, your number, and what you did with the things it showed you. All of it is on the privacy page.

The 6

  • Calendar, when you're free, where you'll be, and how many people are with you.
  • Places, where you actually go.
  • People, who's at the table, whose birthday can't slip.
  • Moments, read on your phone, for the pattern. Your camera roll never leaves the device.
  • Purchases, what you actually buy. It's why Belo is right in a week instead of six months.
  • Belo Pay, so Belo can finish the thing instead of just pointing at it.

Location, only when your phone allows it.

While the app is open, Belo uses your location to find what's near you. When you allow “Always,” Belo recognizes when you arrive somewhere you go and has your order ready to send in one tap.

We don't sell you

We don't sell your data. We don't rent it, trade it, or pass it to advertisers. Nobody pays us for access to you. Merchants see what they need to hand you the thing you asked for, usually a first name and an item. Nobody else sees anything.

What we don't take

  • We don't record your screen, your keyboard, or your cursor.
  • We don't listen through your microphone.
  • We don't read your texts or your DMs.
  • The photos in your camera roll stay on your phone. A photo you send Belo on purpose, like a City Hunt entry, doesn't.

If something ever needed one of those, we'd ask first, in plain language, and you could say no. So far nothing has.

What we hold, and how

Encrypted in transit and at rest. Access limited to the people who need it to do their jobs. We never store or transmit your full card number, only a token and the last four digits. We never see your bank logins at all.

We're not going to pretend

No system is perfect and we won't claim ours is. If something ever affects you, you'll hear it from us, plainly and fast.

A company built on ending the Stranger Tax cannot be one that leaks people.
